Dynascan B+K Precision 1801 Frequency Counter
i have a Dynascan B+K Precision 1801 Frequency Counter was wondering how to hook to a radio it has 2 aligator clips on a wire come out of tge front of it thank you

this unit is for repairing a radio not to monitor what you are TXing on as you talk. hook it to the output of the radio and you may blow it up. was never intended to monitor the channel you are TXing on. it is for the internal adjustments . that is why it has 2 wires and clips on the ends.

look at a service manual for what ever radio you have and it will tell you where to hook it up so you can align the radio.

No it can't be hooked up directly to the coax but you could use a RF sampler to show the transmitted frequency. They can be purchased online or if you search the forum you can find a topic on building one, try typing "Demodulator" in the search box. Like sonoma said that counter really isn't made to stay on a frequency for a long period of time and it might not be that accurate because of it's age.

A sampler can be made with a coax T connector. I made one but not sure how to pics pics. Have not been on this forum for a while.
