Re: HB-140 Penetrator
Yea, me too. I bought one at Hamfest 2017. I hooked antenna to amplifier; hooked amplifier to radfio. both to a 12vdc cigarette plug . When I keyed up, 2 amp fuse blew. I took amp out of loop and radio works. What must I do?

sparkie277 first of all a 2 amp fuse is too small use a ten amp. I had the same issue with a modulater (small) amp and a cig. plug

Hello sparkie277,
Welcome to the forum. What 295 said is true, the amp alone needs a good power source, wire it directly to the battery is best, make sure you install a fuse at the battery location in case the wire shorts going through the firewall. The amp should have a 14A fuse inline, if not install one as well. Any more help just ask.
As a new member could you post an intro in the "Welcome to the Forum" topic, viewforum.php?f=89 , so others here can say "Hi", thanks.

Re: HB-140 Penetrator
Those are small transistors. Do not use a high power or dual final radio on it. It will blow. 20A fuse should be more than enough. Those are similar to MRF455's. Do t need much.
