RM Italy KL500
Anyone have or run this amp? A buddy just gave me one and was wondering how y'all felt about them? Will be run with a Galaxy 959 and Wilson 1000 mag.

Re: RM Italy KL500
I've never ran this one. I have a few friend that own the KL-500. But I have run the newer KL-501. As well as a few other RM Italy amps. My 501 works very well puts out over 630 watts. And covers all HF bands. Most of the KL amps work very well. Just don't over drive them. Feed your 500 1 1/2 watts. 2 watts max. It will love you. And serve you for many years.

Re: RM Italy KL500
They are nice amps, uses 4 MRF455's or SD1406's as finals depending on the version. I agree with the other as for wattage input, keep it low and the amp will live a long and happy life. BTW it needs a good power source, don't over-volt it, 14v+/- max, at least 35/40 amps. On AM I'd run the power setting on no more than 3 (that will let the amp swing with the modulation) and SSB 1 or 2, if you run 5 all the time it will lessen the amps life.
