Just picked it up yesterday, it's the wife's new toy. I'll get to play with it during the week.

Is this your first Jeep ? If so, careful...it's kinda' like radio. Once bitten by the bug it's awful hard to find a cure. LOL

Thanks guys, no plans for a radio since it's the better half's vehicle, you know the drill, "touch it and die". No 231, this isn't my first Jeep but it's the first new vehicle since we were married, I normally buy 2 years old, the depreciation, told her she will have to work until it's paid off, you could imagine that look.
It was on the lot and only had 3 miles on it, geez, who would want a yellow (Baja Yellow Clear Coat) Jeep, it's the Sahara package with some extras. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse (on my 05 Altima as a trade in), glad to because it had started that nickel and dime, (more dimes than nickels), thing, when the dealer looked under the hood and saw it was turbocharged, he said he never saw one, I did that before retiring so I had a toy to play with.
Jeep has a 3.6 and I saw in one of my Hot Rod forums a belt driven blower, hmmm, will be a little down the road. A radio on the other hand is going to be a HT and suction cup antenna.

Very cool. We are a jk and tj house. Never feel bad about buying a wrangler new. As many of you know, I'm in the auto industry and hate to over spend but in the case of the wrangler the value retention greatly reduces that immediate "off the lot" depreciation. I may pull the trigger on one soon as I have a kiddo that will drive soon and wants a wrangler. Don't get me wrong- he is buying his own but I can't have him scoreboarding me with a nicer ride. They are addictive and the aftermarket add-ons are the adult equivalent of Legos. I'm still recovering from attending jeep fest where I got new axle shafts and a locker for one and extra storage for the jk. That is on the heels of last years's warn 8274 winch purchase, lol. Everyone loves them and if you go to the big aftermarket shows like SEMA you will see the strength of their brand and model loyalty.

They definitely are a challenge radio wise but I'll soon show my tj install off. Like yours, my jk is our mall crawler and it is just an ht at most for it.

Enjoy it. I love the smell of a new jeep.

LOL, not even two days old and she had me take the roof off it, but she said no to pulling the doors. Joined a JK forum, (just happens to be the name) and one of the post is about a stand for the roof, going to build it and mod it to hold the doors too.
Hey drdx, yes I love the smell of any new car and this has leather interior, she put one of those smelly things from Yankee Candle in it and it went right out the window (no I didn't litter, it hit a trash can), she can do that later.

PROUD DADDY!! CONGRATS!!!!!

I see them up here in the Big Horns (Wyoming) quite often. Nice rig, if you just go dirt roading, or getting through the snow..... awesome!!

The weak link in such a nice rig is the front axle (front ball joint yokes) if you plan to get serious into the off-roading. I just love the bells and whistles it has!!

My pal installed a pair of heavy duty 3/4 ton axles, springs, shocks, tires, rims, and a lift kit in his rig after he broke his front axle. After it came out of the barn,....his wife took command of the rig.... poor devil

He is now driving his daddy's old 1981 Jeep Wagoneer.

I should call them the "Jeep" family.... always saw a Jeep parked at their farm (or being modified in the tractor barn).

I'm just a "square" and drives a 1996 F250HD 4X4 and just keeps to the dirt roads....

Napom in the morning? I love that movie. On the ball joint topic mine lasts 125k on our mall crawler so they are pretty robust. I replaced them with synergy ones and the job included a torch to heat and expand, my freezer to contract the parts going in, probably 2 cases of beer, many moments of screaming $&@/@& and a 4 foot long pipe for leverage. A few neighbors were sworn to secrecy to never repeat what came from my mouth and some still have bad dreams about it but I got it done and was back on the road. Jeeps are fantastic but sometimes remind you to appreciate them.

Ok here's the scam. Tell her the radio is a safety requirement on all Jeeps per DMV. This is due to their off road capabilities and the lack of cell phone signals in remote locations.
