Is the Northstar 300 the cousin of the Cherokee CBS1000 ??? Seems like I saw a reference to a Northstar radio being very simliar to my CBS1000. I know the AE 497 is really similiar....

Ive done that but still cant get but 25 to 50. out of it. I cant get the low mid and high to adjust right either.

They use the same board as the old Galaxy DX33's......I have the same radio...and I love it.

I like the RD 104 E its noise cancelling and inexpensive, Good clear audio.

This is an 8 year old post. There were a couple things not answered. To get good modulation, the final can't be maxed out. Drop the DK down to 4w this will let the final swing with modulation. The mod adjustment is like "Night Crawler" said, VR14, and I'll go along with 295, a Astatic mic will bring up the mod as long as it is adjusted for it.
