Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
Well, I have had my Connex 4600 turbo for 3 years, never had it apart, have had a lot of compliments on the sound and clarity, two of my buddies bought the same exact radio from Sparkys instead of Clays which is where I purchased mine. I have put this radio through hell and back and hasn't let me down... yet... I think the talk back is going or its the mic again already on my 3rd road king, I work on pretty rough logging roads all year, and the radio has lasted 3 years of torcher, I will say I have never run a galaxy but I'm all for the Connex, don't get me wrong I looked at that 94HP and thats a cool **Censored** looking radio! i think it would look good in my pick up!

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
The only way I'd buy a connex, is if I got it cheap enough to resale and make money!

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
Why not get a tricked out General Lee and put a Davemade amp behind it? Say a 2x4 or such.
Or.....send in your 3300hp for a make over and put a Davemade behind it!

Connex
My 43-300 hasn't given me a lick of trouble,
it's my first connex, been running RCI radios for the last decade or more, wanted to try something different.
It won't be my last Connex radio.

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
The 4600 (no longer made) and the Galaxy 94hp are two very different radios.
The 4600 is basically a 3300 with a two pill amp on the bottom. The 94 is a
959 (same board) with a four mosfet amp on the bottom. The 94 has ssb,
a big meter and more features. The 4600 is a talkin' fool. It all depends
on what you're after.

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
I own a Galaxy DX 94HP, I think it is a much better radio then my old RCI 2950, and far better then my Cobra 25 that I use as a back up radio. So for me it's Galaxy all the way.

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
I am a Galaxy fan myself they have all the toys, bells and whistles that i like in my radios. They also have a wider range of radios to pick from. The Connex is a very nice radio and would not turn one down if someone gave me one just not as flashy as the Galaxy's.

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
I agree.... the galaxy does have all the pretty stuff.... guess you could lure in all the mud ducks with its physical attributes and then have a buddy around with his 4600t to squash them lol

I have a 99v and just bought a connex 3600Hp. I just got it in yesterday and and still don't know how to set it up. I have to run all new wiring and the whole bitCorn_Bread wrote:10-4... yeah i am takin the 44 to the doc in a day or so.. but still wanting to get the turbo!!!
Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
I like what I heard earlier send you 3300HP in for a Tune-Up and than get you a Dave Made 2X4 or any 2X4 Box and that with do some talking. You already got a great radio just run a 2X4 with it and you will be walking the dog now.

Can we say "overdrive"!Darrin wrote:I like what I heard earlier send you 3300HP in for a Tune-Up and than get you a Dave Made 2X4 or any 2X4 Box and that with do some talking. You already got a great radio just run a 2X4 with it and you will be walking the dog now.

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
Common man add variable power and no over drive its about the same as a general lee i have them both with variable power and are a great set up, I can get into more details but I think you and others all know where I'm going with this.

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
Why a 2x4? A 3300hp would cruise a straight 4 and drive the snot out of a 1x4.

Re: Connex Vs. Galaxy
I wouldn't run a dual final radio into a 1x4, let alone a 2x4.
